Dear Birthparents:
Hello! We are Paul and Kristi and we want to thank you for taking the time to get to learn a little about us. We appreciate the love and strength you are showing through exploring the adoption process. Adoption creates many special bonds and we will raise your child to know of the special way in which your child came into our family

We want to adopt and are excited about expanding our family. Paul and I both adore children. We were blessed with the birth of our son, Christopher, in November 2006. Every day with Christopher is special and we look forward to welcoming additional children into our lives. We both come from close, loving families, and can't imagine life without kids running through our home. We have a Golden Retriever, Fletcher, who is wonderful with children. Paul and I love being parents. We would do our very best to give your child many opportunities and provide the best that life can offer.

We really love spending time together. Paul and I have been together since January 2000 and happily married since October 2002. We love to spend time together and our personalities complement each other. We love taking long walks with Christopher and Fletcher, sitting around the campfire talking or taking pontoon rides on the lake. We share values and beliefs. We agree that it is important to not only love a child but teach them to respect themselves and others and to care for those around them. We will always make the child feel safe and secure. We will encourage them to be curious and to learn by having fun and by exploring their interests.

About Kristi: I grew up in Moorhead and am the oldest of three children. I am a lawyer in private practice and have flexibility in my schedule in order to create a great balance between work and home. In my spare time I enjoy creative projects like quilting, painting watercolors, and scrapbooking. I love my time with Christopher reading to him, playing with him or taking him for walks with our dog, Fletcher.

About Paul: I grew up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and am the youngest of five children. I work as a purchasing manager for a large Twin Cities based company and have worked in that area for over 15 years. I have every Friday off in the summer and love fishing, hiking, woodworking and hanging out with Christopher. I love sports of all kinds and have competed in several marathons.

Our home is located on a beautiful lake in a Twin Cities suburb. We have a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors with lots of kids. There are always people walking dogs, running, riding bikes, and pushing strollers. We live close to good schools and we are about two blocks from a very safe park with a playground. We go to a church that is a mile from our house and each Sunday we laugh as we drive there saying if we had left ten minutes sooner we could have walked. We love having the lake just outside our door. We enjoy boating, fishing, skiing, skating, and swimming. We love taking nightly pontoon rides around the lake. We have a big yard for a child to play in. Our house is also very spacious inside with many rooms to grow our family.

Our families and our friends are so supportive and excited about our adoption process. Because of this, we know that our families will provide additional love and support for your baby. Each of us has parents that have been married for over 40 years. We see our families usually at least once a month and we talk to our families several times a week on the telephone and e-mail them almost daily. We have happy childhood memories and love spending time with our families. We are also fortunate to have wonderful friends. Both of us developed strong friendships in high school and college and we still see those friends today. Most of our friends have children and are so excited that we have decided to adopt.

We promise you that we will gladly open our home and our hearts to your precious child. Please know that we will never forget the gift that you have given us and we will do our best to provide your child with the very best that life can offer. Education is important to both of us and we will work hard to make sure that your child gets every opportunity for their education. We are both active members of our church and will make sure that the importance of belief and faith is nurtured in your child. We love to travel and will take your child to many fun and exciting places. We will encourage creativity and interests and will help guide your child throughout their life. We will make sure your child understands that your decision for adoption was a difficult one made out of concern for your child's future.
