Lynn
Hi! I want to thank you so much for considering adoption and for taking the time to read my letter. I truly admire your strength and have a tremendous amount of respect for you and the difficult, loving choice you are making. My hope is that this letter gives you a sense of who I am and the type of mother I will be.
Having family members and friends who are adopted, I have seen how much love and happiness adoption can bring. I have always wanted to be a mom and I know that adoption is the answer to that dream! I can't wait to cuddle and rock a child to sleep, read stories at bedtime, help with homework and give unlimited hugs, kisses and encouragement.
From Lynn's Sister- Karianne
"Ever since my sister and I were kids, it was like Lynn was my second mom. Not because I needed her to be, but because it was in her to be a mom! Kids flock to her and babies calm down around her. I'm actually surprised birds and deer don't follow her around! Lynn is steadfast, smart, and creative, but mostly, she has unconditional and immeasurable love to give. My sister will pour her heart and soul into loving a child."
A Bit About Me-
I love to stay active, fit, and have a healthy lifestyle. Because I do triathlons, my favorite activities revolve around swimming, biking and running. Doing almost anything outside makes me happy including yard work and even shoveling snow! I have an amazing group of close friends. Most of them have kids so when they need a hand or go on vacation, I get the great job of being "Nanny Lynn" and stay with their children. Scrapbooking is another favorite interest of mine. I am so excited to make scrapbooks and share with you, the wonderful memories and experiences throughout your child's life.
Fun Family Traditions-
Holidays and birthdays mean large, fun, loving family gatherings. There are kids running around playing, laughter coming from every room and the wonderful smells of home cooking fill the entire house. The door is always open to friends and neighbors, and before every meal we all join hands and sing the table prayer. Some of our family traditions include: the annual Christmas pool tournament (complete with a lovely purple robe and Burger King crown for the winner), donut and pickle making gatherings, and making homemade pizzas before decorating lots of Easter eggs.
My Job & Community-
As a Certified Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist Assistant, I have the privilege of spending my days caring for people and helping them recover from their injuries and illnesses. One of the highlights of my job is working with kids in the community on the high school athletic teams. My job provides me with flexibility and lots of fun! I live in a caring community in southern Minnesota that has two beautiful lakes, wonderful parks, an active community ed. /YMCA program and a great school system. In the mornings I can hear the whistles of the crossing guards and see the kids on the swings and playground equipment at the elementary school that is one block from my home!
Family-
I grew up in a wonderful, loving, Christian family, with two incredible parents and a younger sister who is my best friend. It is very important to me to stay connected with my family including my many cousins, aunts and uncles. We get together as often as possible and everyone is so supportive and excited to welcome a new child into the family. Being married is something I look forward to. I know the right man will come along and will love your child and be as excited as I am about raising a family through adoption.
What You Can Expect-
I look for the positives in life. If you choose me, your child will be encouraged to explore their interests, do their best and learn from mistakes. I will provide your child with a strong education, lots of opportunities, and unlimited love to develop into a happy, fulfilled individual. You will always have a special place in the life of your child, and they will know about their adoption and how much you love them. I am open to an ongoing relationship with you and am interested in hearing about the hopes and dreams you have for yourself and your baby.
Thank you again for taking the time to read my letter and I would be happy to answer any of your questions. I wish you all the best with your decision.
