DOUG AND SJANNA

Hello,
We would like you to know that we think what you are doing is such an extraordinary and selfless act. We cannot imagine the emotions that you may have in choosing adoptive parents for your child. Know that whatever decision you make, we pray you find courage, comfort and strength. Please take a few minutes to learn about us, our family, and the goals we have for our children.

About Us:
We met in January of 2001 and hit it off right away. We dated about 1½ years and were married 8 months later. Married 5 years we tried to have children right away. Infertility issues lead us to our adoption journey and we are thrilled about this opportunity! Together, we enjoy camping, going to the lake, spending time with family, riding motorcycles, and spending time with friends around a bonfire. We love traveling with family and friends and have recently traveled to Colorado, Arizona and Hawaii. Our holidays are always spent with family in celebration. We attend a Christian church where we have become involved in volunteering and Bible study. We believe that our faith can get us through anything, and we rely on God to help us in our daily lives.

About Doug (as told by Sjanna):
Doug is the love of my life! I cannot wait for us to raise children together. Doug will make a great father. He loves children and has had plenty of experience with 17 nieces and nephews. At family gatherings, Doug can often be found playing on the floor, wrestling with the little ones, or holding his newborn nephew. Doug is compassionate, kind, caring and loving. He is the best friend that I have ever had. We look forward to watching our children grow and later becoming involved in our grandchildren's lives.

About Sjanna (as told by Doug):
Sjanna's passion in life is to inspire, encourage, and grow young minds. With the kids in her daycare or with our many nieces and nephews, it's easy to see she has the patience, kindness, love and consistency to be a wonderful mother. Whether the child is an infant, toddler, preschooler, or older, she will be able to be a full-time stay-at-home mom.

About our Dogs (Diesel and Leinie):
Diesel is our 4 year old Springer Spaniel who loves to play, go for walks, and chase Leinie around the house. Leinie is a very active and fun loving 2 year old Lab/Saluki mix. She can often be found outside exploring, hunting and chasing Diesel.

Our Home and Neighborhood:
Our home is already perfect for children as Sjanna runs a licensed, Christian daycare and loves being able to care for children in our home. Our yard is also fenced which allows for safe and fun outdoor play. In our suburban neighborhood we have many schools within walking distance, a public library, a swimming pool, and a community center all great for children.

Our goals:
We want our children to be kind, compassionate, caring and understanding of others. We would like them to set goals for themselves and strive to achieve them with our help. We want them to be able to make educated decisions. Both of us have college degrees so we know from experience the value of a good education.
