Brian and Jackie

Hello!
We would like to thank you for taking an interest in us as a potential family for your child. Your child is very lucky to have a parent like you who cares enough to explore all the alternatives that are available for his/her future. It is our hope that we can give you an idea of who we are and what your child's life might be like if you choose to entrust him/her into our care.

Us as a couple: Our names are Brian and Jackie and we have been married for eight years. We live in rural Minnesota where Brian farms and Jackie teaches first grade. We both have always loved and wanted children. When we were told that having birth children was not going to happen, we agreed that adoption would be a great way for us to create our family.

While we are waiting for our family, we spend time together doing our favorite things. Every spring we plant a huge garden in our yard (Jackie takes care of the vegetables and Brian digs in with the sweet corn patch). Spending time at home also allows us to spend time with our own pets (two dogs and two cats).We love to cook meals together. We also enjoy riding snowmobile in the winter months. We look forward to days in the future when we can share the things we love to do with a child.

Jackie by Brian: Shortly after we met, I showed up at her house with a puppy in my pocket. I said, "I got this little doggy, what should I do with it?" Right away she was ready to help take care of it. Jackie is a strong and confident person. As a teacher Jackie really understands kids. She feels the sun rises and sets on them. She helps kids feel good about themselves. Jackie loves kids, kids love her. Parents like her.

As a person Jackie is honest and faithful. She has integrity. It shows in how she is an animal lover. She cares for things other than herself. In her life she is a nurturing and committed person. The main three things she values are me, her teaching, and her family.

Brian by Jackie: When I first met him, I was impressed by the fact that everyone in our community liked him. Brian volunteers as manager of our county fair. This involves working closely with people from all walks of life: adults, the elderly, parents and children, as well as organizations from our county. He is patient, kind, and does a lot of laughing as he works with teenagers and kids taking care of the fairgrounds.

He says that he wants to make sure that kids in our county continue to have the same opportunities for fun that he had as a child. Brian will be a great father because it is important to him to teach his children to value life, people, work, and fun. He is a very compassionate person and is a great partner in my life.

Family: Both of us come from large families. Between us we have twelve nieces and nephews ranging from twenty three years old down to one month old. Our family members are extremely excited about us becoming parents and have all offered their love and support. They look forward to having our children grow up together as cousins.

Our home and community: We live in a ranch style house that is eight years old. It is a beautiful home with room for a family to grow. We love to spend summer evenings grilling and sitting on our porch. Our farm is in rural Minnesota just outside of Brian's hometown. We attend church in a nearby town. Our community is one in which everyone knows each other. It is very family oriented.

We have many activities for kids to participate in such as baseball, soccer, dance, academic teams, 4-H, and other school events too many to list. People in our community watch over each others kids and truly care enough to take the time to help make it a safe and nurturing place to grow up.
