Bill & Heather

Our names are Bill and Heather, and we are hoping to adopt and make ours a family of four! We know that an adoption plan is a very personal decision and we want your child to always know of the tremendous love you have for them.

We want to introduce ourselves and share a little about us, in the hope that you would like to get to know us.

About Us - We met just after graduation and have been best friends ever since. We are currently a family of three; our son, Will, turned eight this summer. We feel that another child would be a wonderful addition to our family. Both children would share life in the way that only siblings can.

After nearly five years of trying, we came to know that we will not be able to give life to another child. We know that our family is not complete, as we have so much more love to share! That is why we know adoption is a gift we are so hoping to receive.

About Heather - Heather loves being a mom! The joy shows on her face whether she is reading with Will, helping him with homework, or teaching him something new. She always has a hug and words of encouragement waiting when needed, and is quick to praise accomplishments.

She loves technology, but she also enjoys "old fashioned" hobbies such as sewing and knitting. Heather also teaches religious education to Will's class at our church, sharing her faith with them and helping them to grow closer to God. At family gatherings, she can usually be found playing with the little ones.

Heather has arranged a part-time work schedule as a paralegal at the family law firm where she works. She enjoys helping clients through difficult times, and her part-time schedule enables her to be a more available Mom.

About Bill - Bill enjoys sports of all kinds. When younger, he loved to play, but now enjoys spending his time coaching Will on baseball and soccer skills. The two of them are always on the floor wrestling or cracking jokes back and forth. Bill is one of the funniest guys you'll know – his sense of humor quietly catches you by surprise, and you suddenly find yourself laughing.

A devoted husband and dad, Bill takes pride in being the provider. In his work as a retirement plan administrator for colleges throughout the region, he supports his belief in the need for education.

About Will - Will is intelligent, funny, and imaginative – his Lego creations made with Bill's help are so fantastic that it's a shame to take them apart. Will is outgoing, a leader, and he wants to make sure everyone feels included. We often find "experiments" in the freezer or containers filled with soap bubbles in the refrigerator. His curiosity is endless! More than anything though, Will longs to be a big brother so that he can help teach, protect, and love his little brother or sister.

Will is our wonderful introduction to parenthood - his birth was no small miracle! He was premature with medical complications, and our ability to work with the doctors to resolve those issues has given us the confidence to deal with any future situations that may arise.

What We Have To Offer - At last count, there were over 30 young children in our neighborhood. During the summer, they can all be found drawing sidewalk chalk masterpieces, riding scooters and bicycles, or playing on the playground in our back yard.

During the winter, there is a homemade ice rink at the neighbor's across the street and plenty of snow forts and snowpeople to be found. There is a camaraderie between all of the parents to supervise and keep all of the children safe – we all believe that "it takes a village" to raise a child, and we are certain that we have found our village right here.

We love spending time together parenting, working on our home, gardening, and attending Will's sporting events and activities. We are members of the local Catholic church, and rely on our faith as a guide in all we do. We are fortunate to spend ample time with our siblings, their families, and our parents. We travel together often as a family, and are especially fond of the beaches in Florida as our favorite get-away.

Our free time has always been focused around our family, and we both have a longing for another wonderful child to nurture, care for, and share in the abundance of our love. Our children would be able to enjoy each other the way we remember with our siblings when we were growing up.
